Aching eyes are an unfortunate byproduct of staring at a computer all day! Believe it or not, remembering to blink is an important first step to easing and even preventing eyestrain.Dry, itchy, "computer eyes" are unpleasant, but you can avoid them! Start by wiping the dust from your computer regularly. Dust on the screen contributes to glare. This makes it too difficult to see, and forces your eyes to work overtime. Next, remember to blink! Most of us blink HALF as frequently when staring at the computer and this leads to dry eyes. "Blink breaks" will encourage your eyes to produce lubricating tears. Finally, give your eyes a work-out! Hold a finger a few inches in front of your face and focus on it. Then follow the finger with your eyes as you slowly move it away. Repeat this exercise three times a day at random intervals. With these handy tips in your pocket, eyestrain will be a thing of the past in, well...a blink!More »

Quitting smoking is a super smart professional decision - but intentions are easier than actions!
Transcript: Quitting smoking is one of the best decisions you'll ever make, but that doesn't mean it's an easy one!...
Quitting smoking is one of the best decisions you'll ever make, but that doesn't mean it's an easy one! What do a straw, a tissue, and a rubber band have to do with helping you quit smoking? Plenty! Prepare to curb cravings by tearing off a small piece of the tissue and stuffing it in one end of the straw. When you want a cigarette, take a long drag on your straw to simulate the action of smoking. If this feels too ridiculous, you can enlist the aid of an office staple! Try wearing a rubber band around your wrist. Whenever you want a smoke, snap the band. This action reminds you of the consequences of smoking, and the reasons you wanted to quit. Over time you will no longer need props to help you stop! Until then, keep snapping!More »

Your immune system is your body's "army" which works 24/7 to protect you from invading viruses and bacterium. A meal of just garlic cloves may look a bit sparse, but it's the first way to get your army ready to fight invaders! Taking care of your immune system is like providing your body's army with better weapons. Start by getting garlicky! Garlic also boosts white blood cell count, and acts as an antioxidant which neutralizes the harmful effects of free-radicals. Or try loading your plate with beef. Beef is rich in zinc, which increases white blood cells, your body's first line of defense against invaders. If you like to avoid red meat, try oysters or crab, which are also incredibly rich sources of the nutrient. If nothing else, that healthy dose of garlic will boost wellness by encouraging sick people to stay far away from you!More »
