Transcript: Have you been nipped, tucked, or peeled to change your appearance? According to a recent study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, beauty treatments like liposuction and Botox have tripled in the past ten years. But only 5% of those who admitted to getting such treatments were women in the college-age group of 17 to 24. So what are those unsatisfied  college-age women seeking to change about themselves?  The top three procedures sought by college students are chemical peels to treat scars or minor lines….breast augmentation to enlarge the bust…and rhinoplasty, or nose job, to alter the nose, often by shortening it.  The runner-up procedures are breast reduction surgery, liposuction to remove visible fat, and tummy tucks to slim the midsection.  Despite the relatively low numbers of college students participating in the plastic surgery phenomenon, 45% of them approve of such procedures….and 60% said they'd consider having plastic surgery eventually. So despite common concerns about body image among young adults, it seems that most are happy to stick with the beauty cards they've been dealt…for now.
